I'm a Whale . . . and Proud of it

I recently found this great blog post!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I'll be a whale over a mermaid any day!

Alma 34

I think someone is taking the injunction to pray in your closet a little too literally . . .

And the Verdict is . . .

Broken.

I visited the doctor today and he confirmed that my toe is broken.  Thankfully, it's aligned right and not serious so they just taped it and sent me home.  Hopefully it will be on the mend soon.  I'm glad I went in, just in case.  Otherwise, it could have turned out like my pinky:

Reflexes

Whoever said reflexes are a good thing?

I admit, they can be helpful-- like pulling back when you touch a hot stove.

They can also be harmful.

Especially when they cause you to dive off a picnic table onto a cement floor.

I know-- I'm not always the brightest.  In my defense, though, there was a giant water balloon coming straight for my head.  Escaping the balloon was the only thing going through my mind at the time.

It didn't help either that I was wearing these shoes:

The result was that my right knee and foot decided to become better acquainted with the cement floor.  My second toe on my right foot bruised and swelled up.  It's either 1)bruised, 2)dislocated, or 3)broken.  We'll see what tale Monday has to tell about that.

Of course, what would be the fun of getting wounded without showing off my injuries?  If you don't like that type of pictures, you're welcome to stop now.

This is my left (uninjured) foot, for perspective:

Here's the right foot.  The swollen toe is the second from the left, if you couldn't already tell.

And here's the shiner on my knee:

And that's the story of why reflexes are not always helpful.  So be careful next time someone throws a water balloon at you-- you might end up with a broken toe!

Name that Company

Lately I have been thinking more about working as a genealogist.  I'm working part time for a genealogy company doing file management, but after I finish my degree, I would like take on some clients on the side.

I'm preparing for client work in several methods, including joining LinkedIn and updating my genealogy website and resume.  However, to list myself as a private contractor, I need to come up with a good company name.  That's where all of you come in.  I'm stuck trying to come up with a good company name.

Some ideas I've come up with:

Fields Family Historians
Fields Genealogy Inc.
Fields Genealogists
Fields' Roots and Branches

Some ideas Spencer has come up with:

Kim's Kin-nection
Kimisthemostamazingever company

I can't decide if I should go with one of those options, or if there's another brilliant name out there.  So, I'm turning to all of you for help. What should I name my genealogy company?

Passover with Google and Facebook?

What would the Exodus from Egypt have been like with Google and Facebook?

Subtitles?

I need some input from my readers about my last few posts.  I've had some requests for explanations of the pictures and I'm debating whether or not I should do so.  I thought about putting up some subtitles when I posted them originally, but I decided that I liked the idea of posting a sort of collage of pictures.  I wanted to let them speak for themselves instead of interrupting the flow of the pictures.  But, I know that many of you don't know what exactly is in a lot of the pictures.  So, I'm considering adding subtitles.

What do you think?  Should I add some commentary to the pictures in my previous 3 posts?
