My New Life Calling

I think I've found my new life calling.

Yep-- that's right. I'm going to be a lyricist and write sappy love songs for famous musicians.

I have to give the credit to Brendan Graves, the brother of my roomate, Megan. Brendan came to our apartment to visit today and was playing around on the guitar. When he learned that I write poetry, he asked if I would write a poem that he could set to music. I agreed and he suggested the topic of heartbreak. The result was the following sappy poem/song:

Heartbreak

You said you'd always love me
You promised you'd be with me
I felt your arms around me
Thought I never would be lonely

So where are you?
When I need you most beside me
The longing burns inside me
I'm drowning in my tears

I didn't know you'd ex me
Refuse to even text me
If only you'd believe me
Your presence would relieve me

So where are you?
When I need you most beside me
The longing burns inside me
I'm drowning in my tears

I'm trying to forget you
Wish I hadn't ever met you
Then my life would be much better
Wouldn't need to write this letter

I don't need you
I don't want you here beside me
No more burning left inside me
No more tears I'll shed for you

Goodbye

You better send it to a country western artist. It's a shoe-in (sp?)

Such a sad song! Yet it was beautiful, and made me want to cry. Keep up the good work. ;o)

And I bet you ripped that out pretty fast, too! Nice. You should hear Cindy recite this goblin poem. You of all people would appreciate it!

Did it make Spencer want to cry because you tried it out on him? : )
I definitely need to enlist your help for our little wedding breakfast program. (Don't read that, Suzy.)
