Nottingham

Robin Hood and Little John, walkin' through the forest . . .

Okay, so I haven't actually seen Sherwood forest yet. It's not right next to the city. But, I have been able to see a little of Nottingham. Here goes.

My bedroom-- at least what I could get from the doorway. It's pretty small.

This is the outside of my bedroom door. Follow the pictures below to see how many stairs it takes just to get outside.

Tired yet? I get tired just looking at all those stairs. (Now picture me lugging my 2 large suitcases up those on the first day! Yippee!)
My room is the very farthest up in the hostel-- about 4 flights of stairs up. At least that way it's the farthest away from the living room (hostel environment? heehee) and entrance areas (which would help if the walls weren't paper thin . . . ). And at least I have my own room so far (knock on wood).
It's a good thing all those stairs keep me in shape, anyway, because I've been doing plenty of walking around town. Who wouldn't, when there are so many pretty and interesting things to see?

Who would have thought-- the Hog's Head actually does exist! (And from the size of my head in this picture, I could pass for Hagrid, too. Or Madame Maxine. Or someone from Harry Potter.)

Nottingham Castle.
(And no, I did not computer-edit this photo-- the sky actually was that blue. For once.)

Of course, it wouldn't be Nottingham without our hero, Robin Hood

Now I'm getting nostalgic.

(Apparently this was where the Crusaders used to begin their journeys to the Holy Land.)

Robin Hood and Little Kim runnin' through the forest... wow! you're going to be the stairmaster when you get back. We'll just have to let you walk back from the airport when you get back, because you're so used to all that traipsing around. :)

Your head doesn't even look big! But how funny about the Hog's Head. You could start a secret club there too.

So picturesque...but I feel tired just looking at all those steps! Build-in step aerobics! You'll be in terrific shape when you return home! But what is "the hog head" you're talking about? --Mom

We're already working on a pumpkin juice/cauldron cake party for your return. I will have to try and not be jealous of your muscley thighs.
